Pay Range: $55/hr - $65/hr

Job Description: We are seeking a talented Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic team on a 12-month contract basis. We are looking for Senior Java Developer with hands on experience latest Spring Boot backend microservices development in AWS cloud infrastructure and passionate about owning and troubleshooting complex issues that may arise in different environments including production.

This is a remote position.

Role Overview: As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a key role in the development and enhancement of our financial services platforms. You will leverage your expertise in Java, open-source frameworks, SQL, DevOps, AWS cloud technologies, microservices development, and API development to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading financial services organization while working in a collaborative and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications and services in a complex environment.
• Utilize open-source frameworks such as Spring and Apache to build scalable and robust solutions.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries to interact with databases and retrieve data efficiently.
• Implement DevOps best practices using tools like GitLab to streamline the development and deployment process.
• Leverage AWS cloud technologies to build and deploy applications in a cloud-native environment.
• Design and develop microservices architecture to support scalable and resilient applications.
• Develop SOAP and REST APIs to enable seamless integration with external systems and services.
• Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of applications by adhering to best practices and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, provide technical expertise, and deliver solutions that meet business objectives.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in software development with a focus on Java.
• Proficiency in open-source frameworks such as Spring (latest Spring Boot) and Apache.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools, preferably GitLab.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies and services.
• Hands-on experience with microservices development and architecture.
• Experience developing SOAP and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
• Experience with application servers such as Tomcat, WebSphere, and WebLogic.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the financial services industry.
• AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Developer).
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
