Accountant

Our client, a cloud-based software company, is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract opportunity. The position is located in Seattle, WA 98103.

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

Responsible for preparing cash, international, accrual, and general journal entries, performing account reconciliations, performing control procedures, and generating periodic reporting for global business operations. This is a contractor position on Corporate Accounting team.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

A successful Senior Accountant is capable of reviewing a high transaction volume of transactions, is able to consistently apply policies and procedures, is interested in learning from others, has acute attention to detail, and is able to multi-task a variety of high priority tasks while adhering to tight deadlines. A successful candidate must easily adapt to change, work well in a fast-paced, evolving environment, view each assignment as a learning opportunity, and approach the task with the intent to absorb knowledge and information. The position may require overtime, particularly during peak days of accounting close. The Senior Accountant will work under the direction of the Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting in Seattle. Note that due to COVID-19 precautions, the company is currently working remotely from home.

The Senior Accountant will work closely with accounting and finance teams and business partners across the company, along with third-party service providers. The primary focus of this position will be to ensure that the general ledger and associated financial records are prepared in accordance with US GAAP and that all accounting close responsibilities and associated controls are completed timely. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Reviewing transactions to determine whether they meet corporate policy.

Reviewing and recording third-party service provider international reporting packages.

Recording, documenting, and supporting journal entries.

Assisting with the completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close.

Partnering with Finance and Strategy and Procurement teams to ensure accruals are recorded accurately.

Posting journal entries into NetSuite and Oracle general ledgers.

Reconciling assigned balance sheet accounts in Blackline.

Identifying and suggesting opportunities to improve accounting process efficiencies within assigned areas of responsibility.

Preparing and maintaining process documentation.

Assisting with the preparation of internal and external audit requests.

Performing other accounting analyses as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in accounting.

2-4 years minimum work experience in accounting or finance.

Keen attention to detail.

Experience performing accounting close responsibilities desired.

Experience with the execution and documentation of internal controls preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel.

Ability to self-motivate, adapt to change and work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Must be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

NetSuite and Oracle General Ledger R12 experience desired.
