General Labor-Machine Operator

BCforward is seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Labor in Addison (TX) 75001.

Duration: 02+ Months Contract

Shift Hours: 2nd Shift Tuesday - Saturday 02:00 PM - 10:30 PM


Job Description:

  • A first level position requiring the operation of insertion and printing equipment for processing customer statements and other customer communications for a world class statement processor.
  • The position requires an individual to adhere to production and quality standards and to be capable of working in a high volume and demanding continuous production environment.
  • Associates will be exposed to 5S and Lean Principles and will be expected to comply and exhibit behaviors consistent with 5S and Lean.
  • The individual must be a self-starter, able to be cross-trained on multiple pieces of equipment (high speed and low speed), a team player, organized, and results oriented with exceptional work habits.
  • Physical stamina, flexibility in work schedule, and decision-making ability are also required. Position requires compliance with all Department policies and safety regulations.
  • This position will work under the direct supervision of the shift leader(s).
Responsibilities:

  • Consistently model and demonstrate behaviors as required by the Client Core Values - creating and sustaining a culture of both operational and service excellence
  • Become operationally proficient on insertion machine equipment and meet basic production standards and quality measures
  • Accurately load material into equipment, complete machine setups and operator equipment for 8 hours of continuous work
  • Execute routine quality inspections of inserted material for accuracy and integrity
  • Understand and adhere to all internal workflow process, interdepartmental dependencies and procedures
  • Comply with all 5S operational organization and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic, punctuality, attendance, and scheduling flexibility
  • Communicate effectively regarding job status with department peers, supervisors, vendor representatives, and other departments
Production Skills:

  • The position requires the ability to operate insertion and printing equipment at a basic competence level to process customer statements and other customer communications on high speed printers and rendering equipment for mailing through the United States Postal Service
  • Some experience working in a production environment
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude
  • Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
  • Physical Demands and Work Environments:
  • Ability to constantly stand for 8 hours
  • Ability to bend and move about the production floor, to reach various parts of the production equipment, as needed, while adhering to safety and ergonomic guidelines
  • Ability to push/pull/lift up to 40 lbs. as required throughout each shift
  • Attention to Detail:
  • Ability to make sound decisions, solve problems, and to exhibit a continuous process improvement orientation
  • Follows and meets all quality control specs associated with the delivering the finished products
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment
  • Critical thinking - Focus on the right things and take action
  • Orderliness in personal work habits
TRAITS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
JOB REQUIREMENTS - DESIRED SKILLS:

  • One+ years of production related experience
  • Previous experience operating insertion and/or print equipment
