Job Title: Mechanical Technician

Work Location: Corvallis, OR

Hours- swing shift 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm Monday- Friday


  • Reads/interprets schematics, printouts and specifications as needed to complete tests to determine the functionality of function area.
  • Ensures testing instruments are calibrated and verified on a regular basis.
  • Participates with the debugging and troubleshooting of new and existing procedures, equipment, products etc.
  • Creates new test programs/procedures as needed for new technology.


  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to design and execute experiments, analyze and report results (DOE, JMP, Kappa, Excel skills, etc.)
  • Ability to perform Gauge, R&R's.
  • Designs, coordinates, monitors, analyzes, and facilitates work flow to maximize quality, productivity, and reduce turnaround time.
  • Sets up, calibrates, troubleshoots, and maintains process/product equipment.
  • Assists engineering and maintenance technicians in the development of new processes and products.
  • Inspects in-process data regularly to verify accuracy and completeness.
  • Ability to setup and monitor SPC charts and graphs.
  • Reduces data to information (e.g. graphs, charts, computation of basic statistical functions). Maintains lab notebooks and written documentation.
  • Generates updated process specifications.
  • Communicates with groups outside the immediate work area to obtain information on parts necessary to execute testing and tasks.
  • Communicates findings, issues, concerns, and answers questions of engineering staff. Ability to report out at department meetings.
  • Ability to setup/assist in the development of Lean processes for Proto Final Assembly area.
  • Provides technical support for operators, requestors, and other internal partners.
  • Ability to perform the duties of a Manufacturing Associate V including:
    • Set up and operate complex equipment in a low volume, high product mix environment.
    • Provide the first level of troubleshooting and corrective action to bring processes back within standard operating parameters.
    • Verify product quality, monitor and manage WIP flow within the work area.
    • Comply with all ISO9001 business requirements, attend regular awareness sessions and participate in internal and external audits.
    • Trains new and existing employees.
    • Work with engineers, Proto Coordinators, PDA's, operators and management to develop new and or improve existing product processes and operating procedures.
    • Utilize factory information systems to track material and properly document any events or issues that may affect quality or flow of material.
    • Ability to create and update documentation (EQOC, DMS).


  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent
