Job Title: Accountant 2Work Location: Phoenix, AZ, 85007Expected Duration: 17 Months Contract Pay Rate: $28.50/hr on W2.Position Type: Onsite Job
Estimated Start Date: ASAP Mon - Fri; 8 AM - 5 PM Position Description Approve daily transactions completed by the accountant 1. Review accountant 1 work and ensure bank ledgers and reports are accurate. Compile and report financial data and present findings as request. Prepare and update standard work for the accounting team. Correct entries into the ledgers. Reconcile outstanding check balances with the 740 (outstanding checks listing of unreconciled checks for period ended) report against the bank statements. Reconcile balances on the 80 report (identifies warrants that have been cleared and voided during the selected date range) against the bank statements. Reconcile balances on the 90 report (identifies the warrants that are outstanding. Reports are printed by employer and by warrant number) against bank statements. Reconcile the Trust Fund Statement with the ETA 2112 Trust Fund Balance. Reconcile UCFE and UCX Interest with Benefit Ledger, VJBBG400 (Recoveries Report) and the ETA 191. Assist with Inspector General report and RTAA/TRA expenditure to DOL. Assist with ACH Payment requests and ACH acknowledgement of file receipt. Assist with single audits, Auditor General audits, internal audits, DOL audits, and IRS audits. Provide technical assistance, accurate and compliance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal and state regulations. Other duties as assigned. Skills Required Advanced Excel (Pivot tables, VLookup), excellent analytical, and problems solving skills with minimal supervision Skills Preferred Macros, ACH, knowledge of state or federal government accounting, bank reconciliations and bank transactions Experience Required 3 years experience as Accountant 1 or higher Experience Preferred 5 years experience as Accountant 2 or higher Education Required Bachelors degree in accounting or related field Education Preferred
Masters degree, MBA, or CPA
