BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst for a remote opportunity!

Expected Duration: 6+ months contract + renewable

Job Type: [FULL TIME (>%3D30 HRS WEEKLY) [CONTRACT], [REMOTE]

Pay Range: $50-$55/hr only on W2

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability Studies, or related field.
• At least two years of experience with ESG reporting and GHG emissions calculations, regulatory compliance reports.
• At least two years of experience working within cross-functional teams that include business subject matter experts, application architects, developers, and testers.
• Experience participating in software development or implementation projects.
• Four or more years of experience on the elicitation and documentation of business and systems requirements, ideally with a primary focus on the implementation of a data lake solution.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Proficiency building relational databases.
• Basic understanding (read) of pseudocode and SQL queries.
• Customer service: Develop and offer solutions for data providers as opposed to requesting them to adapt and meet the project's demands.
• Problem solving skills to transform actual (existing) data into a suitable source of meaningful information.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the main point of contact between SMEs and the IT team; translating between technical and methodological languages in the process of operationalizing metrics.
• Understand the structure of data sets and the logic to calculate the associated ESG metrics.
• Gather and review qualitative information to automate ESG metrics calculations.
• Document and centralize all the qualitative and quantitative information provided the different stakeholders to characterize a metric.
• Schedule IT Analysis and Finance Analysis sessions for clarification, when necessary.
• Help SMEs provide the qualitative profile of their metrics: Translate their available data into a suitable data set to derive the metric and help describe the logic for the IT Analyst to review.
• Report all metric changes (cadency, methodology, ownership, etc.) to the E2E Data Analyst and request approval before implementation.
• Assist SMEs with data uploads, troubleshooting, and subsequent validations.

Job Description:

The Business Analyst in the ESG Reporting Solution Project facilitates the automation of the data collection and calculation of ESG metrics used for internal and external reporting. Building strong relationships with data providers and stakeholders is key to an efficient and smooth dynamic. Business Analyst are mostly dedicated to translating the business' requirements into technical language for IT developers and vice versa: providing and reading pseudo code, replicating simple algorithms for validation, and modifying small data sets.
