Job Description
We are seeking a Transportation Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team supporting Client Ag and Energy platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in truck transportation procurement, carrier management, and TMS administration and a proven ability to negotiate competitive freight rates, optimize capacity, and deliver reliable on-time performance. This hybrid role requires onsite presence on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with openness to overtime during harvest season. Candidates should expect two interview rounds, including a hiring manager interview followed by a panel.
Responsibilities:
Support enterprise carrier management strategy through rate negotiations, relationship and capacity management, shipment execution, carrier segmentation, and spend management.
Negotiate rates and contract terms with carriers and drive value creation across product lines, including maximizing load pairing and backhauls.
Analyze transportation operations to identify process and cost improvement opportunities and implement solutions under general supervision.
Serve as a subject matter expert on transportation markets and rates, ensuring third-party relationships are profitable and aligned with business goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency in truckload and less-than-truckload procurement, carrier negotiations, and load planning.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to assess market dynamics and drive cost-effective outcomes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities across product lines and with third-party carriers.
Experience with transportation management systems and data tools; ability to manage freight rates, contracts, and KPIs.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with MasterMind TMS or similar transportation management platforms.
Background in agriculture or energy supply chains and familiarity with seasonal capacity planning.
Systems and Data Responsibilities:
Monitor carrier performance and KPIs, implement corrective actions, and maintain service levels for the client and customers.
Maintain TMS data, internal spreadsheets, and databases for contracts, freight rates, volumes, and customer profiles.
Resolve freight invoice issues to ensure accurate and timely payments to carriers.
