BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Application Designer in Fully Remote.

Position Title: Application Designer

Location: Fully Remote

Anticipated Start Date: 24th-March-2025

Expected Duration: 24+ months contract to permanent.

Pay Range: $50.00/hr - $60.00/hr

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Job Description:
Required Qualifications
* Eight or more years of application architecture and/or product development experience
* Experience working with:
o architecture framework methodologies such as TOGAF
o software systems, applications and network markets
o technical products, vendors, and families of technologies and company hardware and software products
o broad business area and knowledge of competitor products and services
o application design principles and product configurations
o appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software to understand product line software and hardware
o mainframes, scheduling software, and other related technologies
o software development life cycle and client requirements
* Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
* Good communication skills to communicate with customers, support personnel, application development personnel and management

Preferred Qualifications:
* Knowledge or experience in healthcare or government health and human services
* Knowledge of architecture framework methodologies such as TOGAF

Key Skills/Knowledge
* Programming language skills - Java, Javascript
* Database skills - Oracle
* Frameworks - Spring, SpringBoot, Hibernate, Java Server Faces (JSF)
* Application - WebLogic, Apache (web)
* Other skills - Git/GitLab, SOAP/REST web services
* AWS skills - AWS Lambda, AWS RDS
* Operating systems - RedHat Linux
* Infrastructure/Network skills - Ability to work with infrastructure teams (SA, Network/Firewall/LB, AWS, etc.) to help address issues, solution new requirements
* Solid written and spoken communication skills
