Job Description
We are seeking a Network/System Lab Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in network device deployment, lab operations, and testbed support and a proven ability to integrate new equipment, maintain lab reliability, and support software validation.
Responsibilities:
- Bring up and maintain the network lab environment for testing and validation.
- Integrate and troubleshoot new routers, switches, firewalls, and related lab equipment.
- Coordinate delivery and installation of new products and lab hardware.
- Set up and test switch testbeds to support software engineering validation activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and manage lab assets.
- Troubleshoot network issues using console access, break/fix methods, and standard tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a reliable and safe lab environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 4+ years of relevant network or lab engineering experience.
- Hands-on familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls, and lab equipment.
- Understanding of IP assignment methods (DHCP, SLAAC, Static), VLANs, and subnets.
- Experience with Cisco IOS and Juniper JUNOS.
- Knowledge of network management and access protocols including SSH, Telnet, and HTTP/HTTPS.
- Understanding of break/fix concepts, console access, and SCM modules.
- Basic knowledge of power systems and requirements (PSU, PDU, voltage).
- Experience with inventory management systems and asset tracking.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented lab environment with strong organization and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a network lab environment.
- Knowledge of lab safety procedures and best practices.
