Job Description
We are seeking a Research - Human Subjects Research Assistant II to join our dynamic team at Reality Labs Research. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in supporting human behavioral experiments and a proven ability to execute human subject research protocols to generate reliable data and insights for advanced AR/VR interaction research.
Responsibilities:
- Stage, set up, and manage equipment and lab spaces for experiments.
- Conduct experiments including informed consent collection, protocol execution, confidential data handling, data annotation, and basic report creation.
- Conduct literature reviews across relevant research domains.
- Assist with recruiting and scheduling of experiment participants.
- Support experimental design, documentation, and provide feedback during design.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Ability to wear a precision wearable data-collection device on the hand and forearm for extended periods. Ability to maintain sustained manual dexterity and fine-motor control while wearing the device.
- Ability to fit within the following hand measurements: minimum hand breadth 95 mm (across the knuckles with fingers extended flat) and minimum hand length 195 mm (wrist crease to tip of middle finger).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology (e.g., neuroscience), cognitive science (e.g., artificial intelligence), computer science (e.g., human-computer interaction), engineering (e.g., human-factors), or a closely related research field.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and self-management skills.
- 3 years of relevant experience.
- Onsite availability, 5 days per week in Redmond, WA.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience analyzing data and designing research protocols.
- Experience collecting user interaction data and working with technical equipment such as IMUs, optical sensing systems, or EMG.
- 1+ years of experience in a human subjects research environment.
