Facility Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining all process and utility equipment as well as building infrastructure related to manufacturing.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Support the installation, qualification and operation of new device assembly and fill processing suites and equipment.
- Assist in generation of new PM procedures, spare parts lists and enter spares into spares management database.
- Perform systematic preventive maintenance that incorporates industry best practices.
- Provide quick, effective repairs as needed.
- Communicate closely with Maintenance Leader and Operations Leader to ensure repair or PM status is understood.
- Utilize electronic work order database and calibration database to document work performed.
- Other duties as required in support of high performance
Education or Equivalent Requirements:
Minimum education and experience required to perform the job:
- HS/GED required.
- 3-5 years' experience in a pharmaceutical, food, or chemical manufacturing environment in a maintenance technician position
- Experience with electronic work order, preventative maintenance and spare parts program for production, utility and building systems
Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
Minimum skills/knowledge required to perform job:
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and electronic control systems and PLC based systems utilizing equipment schematics and specialized testing equipment
- Familiar with use and operation of test equipment such as digital voltmeter, temperature probes, and pneumatic calibrators
- Must have the ability to use hand and power tools.
- Must be able to use various electrical testing equipment, such as, ammeters, voltmeters, temperature probes, and pneumatic calibrators
- Must be familiar with and possess the ability to read, understand and use electrical drawings, system drawings and panel layout sheets; as well as wiring diagrams
- Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Desirable skills, knowledge and/or experience that enhance job performance:
- Prefer an Associates degree or vocational certificate in related field.
- Performing repair and maintenance tasks on all necessary equipment and machinery
- Operation of common handheld and specialty tools and equipment
- Transportation of tools, carts, and all other required items to and from appropriate areas
- Maintaining safe and orderly work environment at all sites requiring maintenance employee presence
- Attaining and sustaining postures required to work in industrial setting
- Kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting and other static postures required to be positioned in optimal placement for performing maintenance tasks
- Overhead reach, pushing, pulling and handheld tool use
- Compound tasks including but not limited to sustained posture with overhead reach in concert with tool use
- Properly positioning equipment for maintenance
- Items including tools and lab equipment (1 to 15 lbs.), larger scale pieces of equipment involving multiple personnel for lift (>50 lbs)
- Monitoring Boiler System and other production support systems
- Chemical testing and handling of chemicals for addition to system
- Operation of appropriate work saver equipment
- Coordination in an industrial setting
- Operating safely in a dynamic environment which includes mobile and fixed equipment and changing conditions while completing job tasks that range from simple to complex and/or multi-tasking
