BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Accountant III at Remote.
Job Title: Accountant III
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46214 (Remote - Must sit in CST or EST time zone)
Duration: 15 Months (Start Date: 4/21/2025 - End Date: 7/31/2026)
Position Type: Full-Time, First Shift (Mon-Fri, 8:00am - 5:00pm)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant III to join our team and support the implementation of our new ERP system. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, organizing, and interpreting data to ensure smooth integration between accounting processes and the ERP platform. This role plays a critical part in assisting with data validation, financial analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting as the company transitions to the new system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and adherence to reporting standards.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, comparing budgeted costs to actual costs, and preparing periodic reports.
- Tax Compliance: Compute taxes owed, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with reporting and payment requirements.
- Recordkeeping & System Documentation: Implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems. Prepare forms and manuals for accounting personnel and supervise their work.
- ERP Integration Support: Assist with the validation and cleansing of data to be migrated to the new ERP system, ensuring proper alignment between accounting systems and ERP platform.
- Intercompany Activity Analysis: Analyze financial data related to intercompany activity and identify relationships and balances.
- Month-End Closing Support: Assist with month-end closing activities as required, ensuring smooth transitions during the ERP implementation.
- Additional Support: Provide ongoing support for various initiatives, handle special projects, and contribute to the overall success of the ERP implementation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with expertise in financial reporting and analysis.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups, formulas). Previous experience with ERP systems, particularly PeopleSoft or Oracle Cloud, is preferred.
- Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze business trends and financial data to project revenues and expenses.
- Detail-Oriented: Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and completeness in financial reporting.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Adaptability: Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple tasks under pressure.
- Accounting Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations, including federal and state policies.
Education/Experience:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related financial discipline.
- Preferred: Advanced degree in a financial discipline.
- Additional Requirements: Experience working with large amounts of data, and experience working with global teams.
Work Environment:
- Location: Remote position. Candidate must be based in the CST or EST time zone.
- Work Schedule: Full-time, first shift (Mon-Fri, 8:00am - 5:00pm).
- Travel: No travel required for this position.
