Location: Burlingame, CA 94010 Anticipated Start Date: ASAPPlease note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCForward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: 12 Months Job Type: [>%3D40 weeks] [Contract] [Onsite]. - The main function of a lab engineer is to develop tools to drive innovation into the organization. The typical lab engineer will work with lab managers to determine which functions of the business could be innovated and to utilize software and hardware tools to carry that out.
Candidate Value Proposition:
- The ideal candidate will monitor the capture of phone scans and record expressions for the face and body to generate an avatar output using an internal tool. The individual will handle data uploading to internal infrastructure and assessing quality. The ideal candidate will be testing the most exciting emerging technology, working on advanced future products! The team comprises of research scientists and software engineers; this role is more operations. There are one-on-ones and the team is very supportive of one another!
Role Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Connect with management to identify which internal tools and features can be incorporated or scaled into the existing offerings
- Test and incorporate industry-leading products and services within the industry of enterprise Collaboration Technology
- Build and maintain product feature and development alongside the research lab team
- Identify and present relevant data on current product usage to propose new opportunities to increase productivity, reduce complexity of toolsets, and reduce cost
- Create lightweight mock-ups for internal dogfooding (testing our own products) with criteria to grow adoption
- Build and maintain new features/services as they integrate into the standard deployment process. Follow target usage and roll-out plans.
- Performance will be measured on completion of time-sensitive tasks and meeting deadlines. The individual will clean up and capture data, organize data sets, and work on mobile deployment.
Must-Have Skills:
- Proficiency with excel and spreadsheets
- Ability to render code and render common lines on laptops, scripting (Python)
- Ability to interpret, analyze and evaluate given information relative to research
- Experience working with research labs
- Familiarity with app development (Android or iOS)
- Strong coding skills (mainly Python)
- Machine Learning experience
- High attention to detail
- Self motivated, persuasive, and analytical
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player, able to connect with others
- Bachelor's degree in engineering required
