BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.Expected Duration: 3 MonthsJob Type: FULL TIME (>%3D40 HRS WEEKLY) - CONTRACT - HYBRIDPay Range: $25/hr to $27/hrPlease note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Fraud Investigator with strong SAR (Suspicious Activity Report) writing skills and a solid background in fraud prevention. This hybrid contract role supports the detection, investigation, and mitigation of suspicious and fraudulent activity across a variety of payment channels.Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and triage fraud alerts (Reg CC holds, suspicious caller referrals, bill pay, Zelle, check/deposit fraud, and online account takeovers)
- Conduct investigations and prepare accurate, regulatory-compliant SARs
- Apply knowledge of UCC Articles 3 & 4, Reg CC, Reg E, BSA/AML, FinCEN, NACHA, and card network rules (MasterCard/Visa)
- Analyze deposit activity, assess potential fraud, and recommend appropriate action
- Follow established procedures and timelines to reduce financial and reputational risk
- Maintain accurate documentation and investigative records
- Use sound judgment to resolve or escalate fraud concerns appropriately
- Communicate findings clearly across teams and management levels
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of relevant fraud investigation experience
- Proven SAR writing experience
- Strong understanding of fraud regulations and financial privacy laws
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
