Position Title: Provider Enrollment Coordinator I (Remote)
Locations: Dayton, OH 45402 (Remote EST/CST)
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
Expected Duration: 3 Months
Job Type: Contract with possible extension
Pay Rate $17.15/hr on W2.
Need: High school diploma or GED required; prior credentialing or healthcare enrollment experience preferred, with medical records, transcription, or physician office experience considered a plus.

The Provider Enrollment Coordinator I plays a key support role in managing the Contact Implementation and Credentialing mailboxes for both new and existing business. This position ensures the efficient processing of provider enrollment and credentialing requests through accurate data entry, timely follow-up, and strong coordination across departments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering excellent internal and external customer service within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Essential Functions
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of new provider applications using Cactus to support prompt provider onboarding.
- Provide administrative support to the credentialing team, including preparation of Credentials Committee packets, coordination of signatures, and distribution of correspondence.
- Monitor, triage, and distribute incoming mail; provide queue coverage as needed to ensure continuity of operations.
- Complete Health Partner intake by researching, evaluating, documenting, and routing requests to the appropriate mailbox or team.
- Enter new provider requests into Cactus for onboarding, ensuring completeness and compliance with established procedures.
- Process credentialing and Cactus maintenance requests, including NPI updates, terminations, affiliation deletions, and Medicaid number changes.
- Adhere to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for provider onboarding and maintenance activities.
- Obtain required signatures on certified letters as directed by the Credentialing Manager and Director.
- Respond promptly and professionally to phone calls and emails from internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist callers as part of the Credentialing phone queue, providing accurate information and timely resolution.
- Scan and attach credentialing documents to provider files in Cactus in a timely and organized manner.
- Participate in special projects as assigned, such as data reconciliation, urgent provider/organization application processing, and system audits.
- Perform additional job-related duties as requested by management.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Prior experience in provider credentialing or healthcare enrollment preferred.
- Experience with medical records or transcription is a plus.
- Familiarity with physician office operations is advantageous.
Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); Visio experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with proper grammar and professional phone etiquette.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Keen attention to detail and high accuracy in data handling and documentation.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Familiarity with the healthcare industry, including knowledge of Medicaid programs.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Customer service focus with a commitment to responsiveness and professionalism.
- Experience with filing systems and record maintenance.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic environment.
