Job Description

We are seeking a Sanitation Associate (Industrial Food Manufacturing) to join our team at the LOL facility in Hicksville. The role focuses on disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of food processing equipment, including large kettles and product transfer systems, to meet strict sanitation and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Disassemble, clean, sanitize, and reassemble kettles, plumbing, and filling system components that carry product from kettles to filling machines.
• Scrub kettles using chemicals, elbow grease, and power washers; meet cycle-time expectations of approximately 60-75 minutes per kettle once trained.
• Follow SSOPs, CIP procedures, and milk silo cleaning practices to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Use proper PPE and chemical handling procedures, including correct dilution factors, per MSDS guidance.
• Support Quality Assurance verification activities, including equipment swabbing and documentation.
• Complete master sanitation schedules and daily sanitation paperwork accurately.
• Respond to sanitation-related emergencies and provide technical guidance to peers as applicable.
• Fill in for departmental absences as needed and maintain housekeeping of work areas.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude to safely dismantle and reassemble processing equipment.
• Ability to read and follow written and oral sanitation procedures and SSOPs.
• Knowledge of chemical handling, dilution, MSDS, and PPE use.
• Familiarity with CIP operations and food manufacturing sanitation practices.
• Fluency to read and write in English or Spanish due to onsite safety requirements.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in dairy or high-viscosity product sanitation environments.
• Experience collaborating with Quality Assurance for sanitation verification.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Standing for the entire shift; regular lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures and production noise throughout the shift.
• Required PPE includes steel-toe shoes, protective boots, and assigned PPE for chemical and wash-down tasks.

Schedule & Hiring Process:

• Shift: Monday-Thursday, 11:00 pm-7:30 am, and Saturdays, 7:00 am-5:00 pm. Hours subject to business needs. Weekend work may be required.
