Location: Plainview, TX 79072
Anticipated Start Date: 6/16/2025
Expected Duration: 9+ Months of Contract
Pay Rate $14.00/hr. on W2

Position Summary

The General Operator supports all aspects of seed production, handling, and packaging throughout the year. This role is highly seasonal, with responsibilities that change based on the crop cycle. Operators will work in a dynamic environment and rotate through various tasks including operating equipment, inspecting seed, managing inventory, and maintaining plant facilities.

Shift and Schedule

• Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (40 hours/week)
• Seasonal Adjustments:
• Extended shifts and weekend work may be required during harvest season.
• Shift work is expected during November, December, and January for certain teams.
• Flexibility is essential during peak periods.

Key Responsibilities

Fall (Sept-Oct):

• Receive and weigh crop loads from the field.
• Operate dryers and monitor seed moisture levels.
• Move seed from dryers to storage.
• Support warehouse operations and conditioning.
• Apply appropriate seed treatments.

Winter (Nov-Mar):

• Clean, label, tag, bag, and palletize seed.
• Enter inventory data into systems.
• Stage seed for shipment and support warehouse logistics.

Spring/Summer (Apr-Aug):

• Retag and re-bag returned seed.
• Clean and inspect pro boxes.
• Wash and maintain storage containers.
• Assist with seed inspections and inventory management in the field and plant.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of agricultural production and seed processing.
• Ability to work safely while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to adapt to changing work priorities.
• Capable of independent decision-making and problem-solving.

Requirements

• Must pass a background check and pre-employment screenings.
• Reliable transportation and ability to arrive on time.
• Positive attitude and respect for colleagues.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 lbs and work in varied outdoor conditions.
• Willingness to work overtime and rotational shifts during peak seasons.
• Verbal and written communication proficiency.
