Data Entry I
Position Title: Data Entry (Onsite)
Location: Burlington, NC 27215
Duration: 6+ months
Pay Range: $17.75/hr. W2
Shift: Mon - Fri. 8:00am - 5:00pm
Job Description:
The main function of a Data Entry Specialist is to operate data entry devices, such as a keyboard or computer, to verify and input data. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate information documentation and effective personal project management. Key technical skills include strong documentation abilities and time management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Read source documents such as canceled checks, sales reports, or bills, and enter data into specified data fields or systems using keyboards or scanners.
- Compile, sort, and verify the accuracy of data before entry.
- Locate and correct data entry errors, or report them to supervisors.
- Compare data with source documents or re-enter data in verification format to detect errors.
- Maintain logs of activities and completed work.
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Completion of a speed and accuracy data entry test (may be required).
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0-2 years of related experience required.
