Silicon DD Engineer IV BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Silicon DD Engineer IV for an Onsite opportunity. Position Title: Silicon DD Engineer IVLocation: Kirkland, WAAnticipated Start Date: 8/01/2025Please note this is the target date and it is subject to change. Job Description
The FPGA Systems CW will develop and test RTL modules on AMD/Xilinx FPGA devices and preferable ASIC targets, playing a pivotal role in the design and validation of high-performance, next-generation FPGA solutions for custom camera prototyping and other advanced projects. This position requires expertise in FPGA design, strong scripting skills, and the capability to collaborate closely within a small, innovative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and test RTL modules on AMD/Xilinx FPGA devices (required) and ASIC targets (preferred)
- Develop and maintain build/simulation scripts
- Write test cases using Python to validate designs
- Create software interfaces from our FPGA-based systems to Windows and Linux system software at the HAL layer
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and researchers
- Integrate and debug FPGA designs using Xilinx Vivado
- Proactively contribute to high-concept research and prototyping
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 5+ yearsFPGA design experience using Verilog, SystemVerilog (VHDL acceptable)
- 5+ yearsworking with AMD/Xilinx FPGA design (Versal, Kintex/Virtex UltraScale+ preferred; 7-series minimum)
- Strong proficiency with Xilinx Vivado environment
- Proficient in scripting languages (Python, TCL, shell, etc.) for build and simulation
- FPGA verification and validation expertise (simulation, etc.)
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 10+ yearsexperience in FPGA design/development
- Experience with RTL to GDS flows on modern processes (e.g., TSMC N7)
- Familiarity with serial interfaces (SPI, I2C), video/camera interfaces (MIPI DSI/CSI)
- Track record of successful FPGA deployment in production/research
- Programming in C/C++; firmware development experience to drive FPGA prototypes
- Experience with ASIC development
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience (required)
- Master's degree preferred but not required
