Job Type: Contract: 40hr/ week
Pay Range: $55/hr to $58.83/hr on W2
Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).
Job Description:Senior Professional Network Operations Engineer
We are seeking a talented and experienced network operations engineer who will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a large-scale network environment utilizing an SD-WAN architecture.
Your role in our mission
Be part of a network team supporting a variety of responsibilities relating to
* Design and implement network solutions that meet the organization's requirements, including LAN, WAN, and cloud-based solutions.
* Architect and plan for high-availability network designs, ensuring network performance, security, and redundancy.
* Configure routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices
* Deploy and maintain network hardware and software solutions, ensuring compatibility and integration with existing infrastructure
* Implement security policies and configurations, including the use of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure routing protocols
* Analyze network traffic and troubleshoot issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal network performance.
* Implement and maintain network performance optimization techniques, including bandwidth management, Quality of Service (QoS), and latency reduction.
* Provide troubleshooting support for network outages, slowdowns, or other incidents affecting the network infrastructure.
* Plan for network capacity and growth, ensuring infrastructure can handle increased traffic, users, and applications.
* Ensure business continuity by implementing robust disaster recovery plans that include network redundancy and failover mechanisms.
* Manage hybrid cloud network environments, including configurations of cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integration with on-premise networks.
* Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and enhancements to the infrastructure.
Knowledge/Skills Applied to Job Responsibilities
* Experience working with enterprise-level networks with multiple locations and high traffic volume.
* Expertise in router and switch configuration
* Strong knowledge of firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto) VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL, MPLS VPN), and load balancing (F5)
* Architectural experience with SD-WAN networks
* Excellent network troubleshooting skills with tools such as packet tracing and Wireshark.
* Thorough understanding of Wi-Fi technologies (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax), WLAN design, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
* Experience in managing network upgrades, migrations, and installations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation, technical reports, and collaboration with other IT teams and stakeholders.
What we are looking for
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field with 5+ years of experience working in enterprise network environment.
* 3+ years documenting policies, procedures and systems architecture
* Experience working with network systems and networking principles and practices

* Preferred candidate will be in Northern California (Rancho Cordova, CA) with the requirement of some hybrid/remote work. Keywords:
