Job Description:
Job Requirements

• Maintaining company accounting policies.

• Keeping up with new accounting rules and adopting them.

• Consulting with businesses globally with application of accounting policies.

• Conduct quarterly reporting to shareholders and lenders.

• Brand new consolidation system requiring extra support on operating day-to-day.

• M&A type transactions and accounting.

• Derivatives and hedge accounting.

• Reviewing assets for implementation.

• Interacting with senior-level leaders in the organization.

• Highly-engaging position that varies in its day-to-day tasks.

• Regular analysis of accounting issues and advising businesses how to apply those.

• Interacts heavily with auditors to work through audit issues.

Required Skills

• Technical accounting.

• Financial reporting.

• Ability to work independently.

• Strong communication skills.

• Flexibility.

Education and Experience

• Technical background preferred.

• Do not need an active CPA license, but helpful.

• Public accounting experience preferred. Great plus if they worked for one of the Big Four accounting firms: EY, PWC, BMG, Deloitte.

• Minimum of 6 years of experience.

• Auditing experience preferred. Majority of the team comes from that background.

• Operational role where you're closing the books on a monthly basis is not the skillset that this team is searching for. Higher-level technical accounting is the focus; essentially internal consulting role.

• US GAAP for specific transactions.

Software Skills

• No ERP system being worked with. Purely consolidation tool, which is being replaced.

• Workiva is used commonly for external reporting, so is a bonus.

Additional Preferences/Info

• Quarter ends are very busy: Feb, May, Aug, Nov. Fiscal year, so Jun-July are pretty busy periods, so candidates need to be available for that. Multi-week or full-week vacations cannot be accommodated in the month of June.

• No SEC filings needed since Cargill is a private company; reports will be submitted to shareholders.

• Great retention on the team and low turnover, as this is highly engaging work.

2+ years of experience and/or training, demonstrating the ability to identify repairs that are needed and to assure scheduled production run is met. Use of forklifts, aerial-lifts, and various rigging equipment in the performance of maintenance activities. Must have experience with the performance of LOTO out and permit confined space programs related to maintenance activities. Licenses and Required Competencies Possession of boiler, welding, or electrical certification or license is helpful. Demonstrates the ability to ask questions and gather information in order to identify problems and repair or arrange for repair of machine. Demonstrates the ability to think critically and remain calm during stressful situations.
