BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated "Network / System Engineer V" for an opportunity in US - Charlotte, NC 28255

Position Title: Network / System Engineer V

Location: Charlotte, NC 28255

Job Posting Expected Start Date: 04/07/2025

Job Type: 40 hours work week

Pay Rate: $55.00/hr - $60.00/hr on W2

Job Description

Responsible for matching current technology with the current needs. As part of this task, engages in the evaluation and installation of software, hardware, and other types of support equipment into a workable network that supports a variety of functions. This person has fundamental knowledge of Systems Engineering infrastructure. Includes individuals performing high-level systems support. Responsibilities include providing problem determination and resolution, install and update newly developed software to assigned systems. Responsible for the storage systems and associated subsystems including system and application patching and security configuration. Provide system-level support of multi-protocol NAS shares, iSCSI connectivity to Windows Servers, hardware and software tools, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of these systems. Identify alternatives for optimizing computer resources. Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions. Collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade operating systems. Research, plan, install, configure, troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade hardware and software interfaces with the operating system. Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as networking to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems. Write and maintain system documentation. Responsible for capacity planning, disaster recovery, and security, where necessary. Possess extensive experience with operating systems, network protocols, systems programming and configurations. Working in a one stop shop environment that support 24 hours a day (rotation on-call) Plusses: Linux (RedHat 7+) Windows Administration (2016+), MSSQL/Azure Dev Ops administration

Responsibilities:
Participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities involving cross-functional technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities
Responsible for components of highly complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities Establishes input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of total system
Will have responsibility for multiple, complex projects
Leads the resolution process for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors
Required Skills:
At least 7-10 years of experience with NetApp C-dot (NAS/SAN)
OnTap Updates
Storage Management via SnapCenter
multipetabyte/multiprotocol NAS volumes
Windows/ISCSI connectivy
Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell - Prefered)
Ability to work well in a cooperative, time-sensitive, market-driven environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision *Analytical skills, critical thinking and a strong desire to learn?
Desired Skills:
Big Data, Data Management & Data Analytic experience: SAS, Hadoop, Vertica, Spark, Oracle DB, SQL DB NetApp.
Working knowledge of general policies, programs, and procedures
Computer Science Degree or similar experience
Azure Dev Ops administration
MSSQL administration
7-10 years of Unix WinServer
Vulnerability and baseline patching in both Unix/Linux and Windows.
