Job Description

We are seeking a WordPress Web Developer to join our team supporting a portfolio of game-related websites. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in WordPress site migrations, Sage theme upgrades, and full-stack web development and a proven ability to deliver reliable, accessible, and high-quality web experiences at scale.

Top must have hardskills:

2-4 years required in the following, ideally 5-7 years experience:

Experience migrating WordPress websites between hosting platforms

Experience updating Sage WordPress starter theme versions 9 through 11

Experience with build pipelines and automation tools such as Webpack, NPM & Yarn

Responsibilities:

• Migrate existing WordPress websites to a new hosting platform.
• Upgrade Sage WordPress themes from version 9 to 11.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize high-traffic WordPress sites.
• Implement and maintain build pipelines and automation for front-end assets.
• Ensure accessibility, performance, and cross-browser/device compatibility.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support ongoing site updates and content releases.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience as a Web Developer with a focus on WordPress.
• Hands-on experience migrating WordPress websites between hosting platforms.
• Experience updating Sage starter themes, versions 9 through 11.
• Solid PHP back-end development skills with WordPress core functions, filters, and actions.
• Strong front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery.
• Experience with Webpack, NPM, and Yarn for build pipelines and automation.
• Proficiency with SASS and Bootstrap CSS framework.
• Version control experience with Git or similar systems.
• Experience with cross-browser and device testing practices.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Azure.
• Familiarity with automated testing tools and practices.
• Familiarity with Agile development processes.
• Knowledge of user authentication and authorization concepts.

Role Logistics

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week in PST. No overtime expected.
• Work setting: Remote acceptable; local hybrid preferred up to 3 days onsite per week.
• Work samples: Links required with application.
• Background: Consistent tenure preferred; frequent unexplained short roles may be disqualifying.
