Pay rate: $50.00/hr. on W2

Job Description:

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner to handle complex and high-exposure claims involving litigation, rehabilitation, and subrogation. The examiner will be responsible for ensuring proper adjudication and timely resolution of claims in accordance with company standards, industry best practices, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and manage complex or litigated workers' compensation claims from inception to resolution.
• Develop detailed action plans to ensure effective claims management and timely settlements.
• Evaluate claims to determine exposure and assign appropriate reserves.
• Process claim payments, calculate benefits, and handle adjustments within authority.
• Prepare and file required documents with state agencies within statutory deadlines.
• Oversee litigation strategy and vendor management to control claim costs.
• Pursue subrogation, excess recoveries, and applicable offsets (e.g., Medicare, Social Security).
• Maintain regular communication with claimants, clients, and internal stakeholders.
• Document claim activity thoroughly and ensure proper coding.
• Refer significant cases to supervisors when appropriate.

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Professional certification in insurance claims (e.g., CPCU, ARM) is a plus.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of workers' compensation claims handling experience.
• Strong knowledge of California WC laws and claim procedures.

Skills & Competencies:

• Expertise in WC insurance laws, cost containment, litigation, and rehabilitation strategies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks.
