Job Description

We are seeking a Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing cost accounting, inventory control, and ERP-driven financial processes and a proven ability to execute accurate month-end close, analyze variances, and maintain standard cost integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and monitor the work order closure process.
• Perform cost accounting responsibilities for month-end close.
• Review and enter daily production and consumption records.
• Verify monthly raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory cycle counts. Audit and maintain cycle count documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Maintain compliance with counting frequency and completeness requirements.
• Monitor inventory and manage paperwork approval, tracking, and filing to maintain accuracy.
• Analyze manufactured product costs and manufacturing variances to identify discrepancies in routings or bills of materials.
• Perform standard cost roll and ensure accurate standard costs for all active raw materials and intermediate items.
• Ensure integrity of standard costs and item attributes that impact costing or standard accounting flows.
• Assist in the annual budget process with standard cost rate development.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems; Sage or JDE preferred.
• Advanced spreadsheet skills, including Pivot Tables, Lookups, and complex formulas.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk regularly, and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with manufacturing variance analysis and standard cost maintenance.
• Background in cycle count programs and inventory reconciliation.
