Job Title: QA Analyst
Location: Remote
This position is Contract to Hire and PREFERS Memphis, TN or Columbus, OH
Duration: 10+ months

Pay Rate: $61.29/hr on W2

Required:

• 8+ years QA experience
• Leadership experience (leading meetings, attending project meetings, tracking production defects, reviewing testing documents)
• Strong communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in SQL/Oracle
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Basic Unix experience
• Manual testing experience

• Experience with Progress Language
• Experience with Quality Center/ALM
• Experience with SharePoint
• Experience with Smartsheet for project tracking

Primary Purpose:
To design, develop, maintain, test, and debug tests for software and applications; to determine the compatibility and impact of new programs on existing systems and test plans; to develop expertise and assume responsibility for one or more specific system functions; to formulate/define system scope and objectives; to devise or modify tests to verify complex implementations; to ensure project completion; and to provide guidance and training to junior QA analysts.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Become familiar with all aspects of the application including reports, parameters, claims management, intake services, carrier/client interfaces, and vendor/business partner interfaces
• Develop expertise and take ownership of specific areas of application functionality
• Define and establish quality assurance procedures, standards, and metrics reporting
• Analyze user needs and lead design of test cases to ensure requirements are met
• Develop and maintain test scripts and test plans
• Assess regulatory and client requirements and design corresponding tests
• Execute tests and assist other testers in validation
• Prepare project documentation and follow release procedures
• Mentor and support junior QA staff
• Adhere to established QA standards and guidelines
• Maintain knowledge of current QA tools and technologies
• Deliver and uphold high standards of client service

Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform other duties as assigned
• Support organizational quality initiatives
• Travel as required

Qualifications:
Education & Licensing:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
• Major in Information Systems or Computer Science preferred

Experience:

• 8 years of IT/computer science experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 4 years of QA/testing experience
• 2 years specialized experience in interpreting user requirements and developing application tests
• Insurance industry experience preferred

Skills & Knowledge:

• Knowledge of client/server applications and claims management systems
• Excellent project management, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and related tools
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to meet or exceed performance expectations
