Job Description

We are seeking a CE Facility Support Engineer - Electrical 3 to join our data center operations team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electrical systems, critical environment procedures, and data center maintenance and a proven ability to support safe operations, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with incident response.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide escort support for third-party contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and service providers on site.
  • Perform assigned tasks with supervision, including rounds and initial assessments of equipment performance.
  • Monitor maintenance and operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment with supervision.
  • Assist with emergency monitoring and response using Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs) with supervision.
  • Adhere to all safety and physical security procedures and policies during all work activities.
  • Take daily operational readings of electrical equipment through routine rounds and logs, including temperatures, voltages, and currents.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for critical environment planned work activities.
  • Energize cabinets in colocation environments as directed.
  • Support Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) preventive maintenance on quarterly and annual intervals.
  • Perform system control panel and battery preventive maintenance.
  • Assist with troubleshooting, repair, replacement, and calibration of instrument sensors.
  • Support electrical infrastructures across the data center campus, including single large-capacity sites and multiple smaller sites.
  • Operate and monitor electrical power management and building systems, including EPMS.
  • Execute Remote Power Panel (RPP) single-source shutdowns while maintaining critical load on remaining source (N).
  • Perform PDU shutdowns for power meter replacement.
  • Support Power Interruption Testing (PIT).
  • Assist with master controller shutdowns or replacements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous data center experience.
  • OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E certification.
  • Experience with electrical systems in high-availability or critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of work or applied learning experience in technical fields such as automotive, electrical, controls, or data center operations.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, and variable work weeks.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code.

Top Skills Required:

* Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code

* Required: Previous datacenter experience

* Required: All candidates must hold an OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E

* Required: Experience with electrical systems in a high availability assembly / manufacturing / critical infrastructure environment such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields.

* Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

* Required: 5+ year(s) work/applied learning experience in technical fields (e.g. automotive, electrical, controls, data center)

* Required: Able to work a flexible work schedule which could include 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, 3-, 4-, or 5-day work weeks

* Required: Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with electrical power monitoring systems such as EPMS.
  • Experience with UPS, RPP, PDU, and master controller maintenance activities.

Schedule & Equipment:

  • A-side day shift: Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday (two resources).
  • B-side day shift: Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday (two resources).
  • Supplier-provided Windows 11 compatible laptop required.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Supplier Provided:

  • Feet: Lace-up composite toe boots that cover the ankle, have a slip-resistant sole, and meet ASTM F2413-05 safety toe standards.
  • Head: Type 2, ANSI Z89 approved hard hat or helmet.
  • High-visibility vests.
