Position Title: Building Maintenance Technician

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Anticipated Start Date: 07/14/2025

Expected Duration: 3+ months

Job Type: Full Time (>%3D40 HRS WEEKLY) - CONTRACT - ONSITE

Pay Range: $26/hr to $28/hr

Key responsibilities:

• As a Maintenance Technician, you will provide essential support to critical areas throughout the hospital, including:
• Emergency Department
• Intensive Care Units (Pediatric, Neonatal, Psychiatric, Transplant)
• Labor & Delivery
• Cath Labs
• Inpatient and Overnight Care Units
• Heliport
• Linen & Central Services
• Chapel and Convent facilities
• You will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical and building systems, including:
• Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing complex systems such as:
• HVAC and air handling units
• Building automation systems
• Fire alarm and security systems
• Boilers and pump systems
• Refrigeration and freezer alarm systems
• Performing preventative maintenance (PM) tasks on schedule, in compliance with CMMS timelines and Joint Commission standards
• Handling emergency repair requests with urgency and professionalism
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to minimize disruptions during system upgrades or repairs
• Leading by example and supporting other staff in technical and operational guidance
• Operating within the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) protocols as needed

  Education Qualifications

• Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
• Associate's degree or 2-year technical college degree in Building Infrastructure System maintenance
• Completion of a one-year trade-specific program
• OR 4 years of military experience in a related field (in lieu of formal education)

  Experience & Skills:

• Proficient with computers and building control systems
• Strong communication skills-both written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working in patient-sensitive and critical environments

  Licenses & Certifications:

• Required: Valid Driver's License
• Preferred: Minnesota Special Engineer Boilers License (or able to obtain within 6 months), Universal Refrigeration Certification
• Electrical or Plumbing licensure is highly beneficial.
