Position Title: Business Analyst Location: Houston, TX 77070 Anticipated Start Date: 09/30/2024.Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date. Expected Duration: 12+ Months Contract with Strong Possibility to Extension. Job Description:A business analyst is a professional who analyzes the needs and problems of an organization and provides solutions to improve its performance, efficiency, and profitability. A business analyst works closely with various stakeholders, such as managers, employees, customers, and vendors, to understand their requirements, expectations, and pain points. A business analyst also conducts research, data analysis, and testing to validate and implement the proposed solutions. The business analyst will need to be available for a period of one year.

- Gathering and documenting business requirements from different sources and translating them into functional and non-functional specifications.
- Evaluating the current state and future state of the business processes and systems and identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Developing and presenting business cases, feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and risk assessments to support decision making.
- Collaborating with project managers, developers, designers, and testers to deliver solutions that meet the business objectives and quality standards.
- Facilitating communication and coordination among various stakeholders and ensuring that their feedback and input are incorporated into the solutions.
- Providing training, support, and guidance to the end-users and resolving any issues or queries that arise during or after the solution deployment.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business analysis, project management, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies, tools, and techniques, such as SWOT analysis, PESTLE analysis, BPMN, UML, and Agile.
- Proficient in using software applications, such as MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project, and SQL.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Certification in business analysis, such as CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA, is preferred but not required.
- The resource will be working on a project called Climate and Date Improvement Project.
- Looking for someone with good leadership skills. Someone who can take the initiative. Someone who does not need hand-holding. Someone who understands what needs to be done and drives it.
- Comfortable with documentation and working with IT group and business translate requirements to functional and non-functional. Someone with ESG knowledge is nice.
- Someone comfortable with agile methodology particularly scrum. Someone familiar with what a scrum team is and does. How sprints work, and how daily stand-ups work.
