Job Description
We are seeking a File Clerk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in physical filing, records organization, and document handling and a proven ability to maintain accurate records, follow procedures, and protect confidential information.
Responsibilities:
- Stand, bend, and climb ladders for extended periods during filing activities.
- Organize and file applications and documents using alphabetical and numerical systems.
- Create new folders and shift folders to make space as required.
- Secure and protect the privacy of documents in accordance with policy.
- Discard documents per official procedures and retention schedules.
- Check, correct, and refile previously filed documents to ensure accuracy.
- Retrieve files promptly upon request and log movements as needed.
- Follow directions as given and work independently and with a team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to alphabetize and apply numerical filing systems accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality and privacy.
- Clear handwriting and ability to read and understand a wide range of materials.
- Verbal communication and interpersonal skills for client interface.
- Research and critical thinking skills to verify and correct records.
- No degree or prior experience required. Training provided.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior records management or file room experience.
- Familiarity with document retention procedures.
Additional Role Details:
- Not a desk job. On feet for the full shift performing physical filing.
- Dress code: Business Casual.
- Client interface required. Overtime not required.
