Embedded Software Engineer IIIBCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Embedded Software Engineer III for an Burlingame, CA or Seattle, WA opportunity! Position Title: Embedded Software Engineer IIILocation: Burlingame, CA or Seattle, WA (Onsite)Anticipated Start Date: 9/15/2024Please note this is the target date and is subject to change. BCforward will send official notice ahead of a confirmed start date.Expected Duration: 6+ MonthsJob Type: Contract (>%3D30 HRS WEEKLY)Pay Range: $51.06 - $84.26Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).Scope of Work
1. Firmware development & debugging
- Understand and implement firmware on micro-controllers, leverage peripherals, support boot loaders, schedule real-time tasks (RTOS), etc.
- Debugging SW & FW issues such as faults, lockups, etc. Triaging bugs by analyzing logs, stacktraces, etc.
2. Firmware test development & testing, automated & manual
- Determine and execute manual test cases
- Develop automated test cases & add to testing frameworks
3. Logistical support and device management
- Lab and Technical support, playtesting, dogfooding, etc. Years of Experience
3-4 Years of Experience
Must-Have Skills
1. Experience with embedded micro-controllers such as ARM Cortex M0/M3/M4 architecture and their boot mechanisms
2. Experience with design and programming in C or C++ for development, debugging, testing and performance analysis
Nice-to-Have Skills
1. Experience with the Zephyr RTOS
2. Experience with peripherals such as USB, SPI, MIPI CSI/DSI, I2C, UART, GPIO etc. and their interrupt priorities
