Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join our Technology Infrastructure team, specializing in mainframe network engineering and advanced cryptography. This role is critical for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, high-performance mainframe network infrastructures, with a strong emphasis on integrating Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) to protect against emerging quantum threats.

Key Responsibilities
* Network Design & Implementation:
Design, install, and configure mainframe network infrastructure, including z/OS Communication Server, VTAM, and TCP/IP, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
* Post-Quantum Cryptography Integration:
Lead initiatives to assess, implement, and optimize quantum-safe cryptographic algorithms and protocols within mainframe products and services.
* Data Encryption & Security:
Implement and manage security features such as IPSEC, AT-TLS, and z/OS crypto hardware. Ensure robust encryption for data in transit and at rest, leveraging both traditional and post-quantum methods.
* Network Protocol Data Analytics:
Monitor, analyze, and tune network protocols (TCP/IP, APPN, IPSEC) using tools like Mainview, REXX, CLISTs, and NetMaster. Identify vulnerabilities and optimize performance, supporting the transition to quantum-resistant security.
* Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Ensure ongoing reliability and performance of network connections by troubleshooting protocol mismatches, hardware issues, and developing high availability strategies.
* Collaboration & Integration:
Work closely with system programmers, DBAs, application teams, and security architects to ensure seamless integration of PQC and secure network operations.
* Documentation & Compliance:
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and operational procedures. Support compliance with cryptographic standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST 800-53, ISO).
* Mentorship & Guidance:
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
* Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with advancements in quantum computing, cryptography, and mainframe technologies. Proactively recommend enhancements to infrastructure and security posture.

* 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a strong background in mainframe technologies (e.g., IBM z/OS, Comm Server, ACF2, RACF, CICS).
* Expertise in mainframe network products and protocols (z/OS, VTAM, TCP/IP, APPN, IPSEC).
* Demonstrated experience with cryptographic protocols, including Post-Quantum Cryptography and quantum-safe algorithms (lattice-based, hash-based, code-based).
* Proficiency in scripting and automation (REXX, JCL, Python).
* Experience with secure file transfer products (sFTP, Connect:Direct Secure, FTPs).
* Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (Mainview, Omegamon, Rexx, CLISTs, NetMaster).
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with mainframe modernization and migration projects.
* Understanding of ICSF, Network Security on the Mainframe, and zERT.
* Knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting cryptography (NIST 800-53, ISO).
* Certifications in security or mainframe technologies (CISSP, IBM z/OS Mainframe Practitioner, Marist z/OS Certificate).
