Job Description:
This position is responsible for scheduling refinery products that ship via rail to multiple customers; both internal and external. Responsibilities include monitoring railcar availability, refinery production and tank levels, and order fulfillment. This position works closely with Transfer and Storage (T&S) and the railroad to ensure that railcars are scheduled, loaded, and shipped in a manner that minimizes costs to the refinery.
This position is also required to support the Residual Marketing Department through maintaining organized shipment records, helping to achieve department general ledger account balancing, and maintaining the department ERP systems. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies, the ability to work with others in all levels of the organization, and exceptional communication skills (oral and written).
External:
This position will develop working relationships with several logistic, finance and marketing positions held by our residual product customers.
Internal:
This position will work with the Transfer and Storage department to monitor truck and rail logistics, customer order fulfillment, and product/railcar availability. Collaboration with the Finance team to ensure residual marketing G/L account balancing will be required. Position will work very closely with Asphalt Terminal Managers to coordinate rail shipments to the terminals. This position will also work with IT to resolve any ERP issues that may arise.

This position will be responsible for monitoring refinery production, product availability and open orders to optimize railcar scheduling, railcar loading, and switch crew activity. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, the following:
Access product tanks via the Tank Inventory System to verify product availability for orders.
Responsible for managing all railcars to maintain accurate fleets.
Daily verification of railcars in order to schedule and coordinate shipments. Monitor and maintain knowledge of available railcars to support customer order fulfillment.
Schedule and coordinate rail shipments to ensure timely delivery of orders to customers.
Trace rail shipments as requested/required and provide pertinent information.
Maintain freight pricing in transportation system as required and update as needed.

This position will be responsible for forecasting and railcar and truck analysis to support refinery operations with effective and efficient reporting methods. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare and provide reports on railcar ship times, dwell times, rejected cars, delayed delivery, etc.
Provide analytics to support decision making.
Monitor and create necessary reports to monitor customer rail and truck shipments to maintain best usage of lease railcar fleet.
Develop and implement KPI metrics through gathering rail and truck data to report rail performance.

This position researches and resolves any rail or truck related and general department inquiries posed by management, customers, outside vendors, Accounting, Transfer & Storage, product terminals, Planning & Economics, and Corporate personnel. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, the following:
Respond to, resolve, and file any email sent to the related to the above-mentioned tasks.
Answer the Residual Marketing main phone line and address any questions or respond to issues in a timely manner.
Address customer issues with railcars and trucks regarding deliveries or customer complaints.
Provide information to operations.

This position maintains railcar ERP software (including but not limited to Terminal Management System (TMS), Kaleris/YTM, JDE) data as well as other general duties assigned by a supervisor or manager.
