Job Description
We are seeking a Case Assistant to join our team at Salem, MA. The role will support two Career Service Counselors with visual impairments by completing administrative tasks, managing information in the MassAbility case management system, and providing visual assistance as needed. The successful candidate will demonstrate reliability, accuracy, and the ability to follow directions.
Responsibilities:
- Complete tasks in the MassAbility case management system, including creating documents and letters, determining financial needs, initiating purchase and contract orders, recording case notes, developing plans, and uploading or locating documents.
- Provide visual assistance to counselors as directed.
- Fill out forms and letters using MassAbility data, such as tuition waiver letters, referral forms, and MBTA TAP letters.
- Manage and organize electronic files within MassAbility to ensure accessibility for counselors.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Positive attitude and willingness to help.
- Ability to organize tasks independently and manage priorities.
- Ability to understand and follow spoken and written instructions.
- Ability to read aloud and explain on-screen information efficiently.
- Ability to learn and use the MassAbility case management system.
- Proficiency with MS Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and online meeting platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
- Professional experience using a computer and MS Office Suite, 1 year.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working within case management systems.
- Background supporting accessibility needs in an office setting.
