Position Title: Financial Analyst II (Remote)Locations: Remote - NC (EST/CST)Anticipated Start Date: 12/02Expected Duration: 6 months Job Type: Contrsct with possible extensionShift: 8-5, M-FPay Rate: $36.00/hr on W2
Job Description:
The main functions of a financial analyst are to gather and analyze financial information; will typically conduct quantitative analyses of information affecting investment programs of public or private institutions. A typical financial analyst is responsible for analyzing and communicating financial information for clients.
Day to Day Responsibilities of this Position and Description of Project/Assignment (What is a typical task breakdown & rhythm? What level of interaction will this person have with the team? What will the work environment be like?):
* Cleaning and preparing data for analysis
* Analyzing data for trends and correlations
* Building predictive models
* Supporting big data projects
* Designing and developing databases
* Organizing, interpreting, and visualizing data
* Communicating results to stakeholders
* Using data modeling techniques to bring cohesion to unstructured and semi-structured data.
* Conducting quantitative analysis to obtain insights, developing these into workable solutions, and then following these through to successful delivery (while measuring outcomes).
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated advance experience/proficiencies in MS Access, Excel, and Power Products (Power BI, Power Query, etc.), SQL, Alteryx, Proficient in MS Office products (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong understanding of Order to Cash processes. Experience or background in accounting, finance, contract and project accounting strongly preferred.
- Experience with driving data to insights and sustainable process in a large matrixed organization.
- Strong analytical and communication skills that allow for the development of data driven reports. In-depth knowledge of spreadsheet, reporting, query and/or relational database software required.
- Highly motivated, self-starter, full of initiative, team player
- Advanced PC skills in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong Excel Knowledge, data manipulation, pivot tables, etc.
Contract/project centric industry experience preferred, and life sciences a plus.
Working knowledge of Peoplesoft/Oracle Fusion preferred.
Job Responsibilities: Assemble spreadsheets and draw charts and graphs used to illustrate technical reports. Analyze financial information to produce forecast of business, industry and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions. Interpret data affecting investment programs, such as price, yield, stability and future trends in investment risks.
Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking. Basic ability to work independently and manage ones time. Basic ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses. Basic knowledge of economic and accounting principles, the financial markets, and reporting of financial data. Basic knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting. Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related financial software.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required. An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred. 2-4 years financial and/or accounting experience required.
