Inserting Operator

BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Inserting Operator for an opportunity in Getzville, NY 14068!

Position Purpose:

The Inserting Operator will operate and maintain an inserter to produce mail pieces and prepare them for the Post Office. This role involves inspecting pieces during production and making necessary adjustments to ensure the machine operates efficiently and that the produced mail meets quality standards

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of experience in a mail production facility operating mechanical inserters is preferred.
• Experience with USPS postal regulations is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce mail pieces using automated inserting technology.
• Operate folding machines, cutters, and bindery equipment.
• Insert printed materials, such as letters or booklets, into envelopes.
• Maintain equipment by following the provided maintenance schedule.
• Ensure optimal productivity while adhering to quality standards.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods of time.

Work Environment:

This role works within a dynamic, fast-paced production environment. The team is small, tight-knit, and works together effectively. The atmosphere is laid-back, and the dress code is casual. The environment can be noisy, so many team members wear earbuds or headphones to focus.

Candidate Requirements:

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Attention to detail and quality.
• Strong time management skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Preferred:

• 1+ years of mail production experience.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical issues in production equipment.

Disqualifiers:

• Lack of experience in a similar production environment.
