Job Description

We are seeking a Junior Big Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in Cloudera Hadoop, distributed data processing, Python development, containers, and Linux and a proven ability to build scalable data solutions, optimize platform performance, and troubleshoot complex issues while adhering to security standards. Candidates with 3 years or less experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain Big Data pipelines and services on Cloudera Hadoop.
• Integrate tools across the Big Data ecosystem to collect, store, process, and analyze large datasets.
• Develop Python-based automation and services, including APIs and integrations.
• Deploy and operate containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Optimize platform performance and ensure compliance with enterprise security standards, including Ranger policies.
• Troubleshoot production issues, analyze error messages, and implement corrective actions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience within the market data space across global markets.
• Hands-on expertise with Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem: HDFS, YARN, Spark, Impala, and Ranger.
• Knowledge of Apache Iceberg and object storage such as S3 or Ozone.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Strong Python development skills; familiarity with FastAPI, Gunicorn, and related frameworks.
• Experience with Python libraries such as spaCy, NumPy, pandas, and Polars.
• Intermediate to advanced Linux/Unix skills, including bash or shell scripting.
• Demonstrable troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience level: 0-3 years in Big Data engineering or related roles.

Preferred Skills:

• Strong organization and communication abilities.
• Ability to deliver in a demanding environment and partner with senior technologists.
