The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing accurate financial reports to maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other financial activities. This role involves both strategic analysis and day-to-day accounting functions. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor budgets; prepare periodic reports comparing budgeted versus actual costs.
- Implement and improve accounting systems, procedures, and documentation.
- Compute taxes owed, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Direct bookkeeping and accounting staff; create forms and manuals for accounting procedures.
- Analyze business operations, trends, and projected revenues and expenditures to provide financial insight and recommendations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Proficient in applying accounting principles and mathematical analysis.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and company regulations related to accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and accounting software.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related financial discipline (required).
- Advanced degree in a financial discipline (preferred).
- 5-7 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
