Job Description
We are seeking a Lead (Level 4) Electrical Engineer to develop advanced electronics for spacecraft power and electric propulsion systems, and for demanding land, sea, air, and space environments. Systems span tens of Watts to hundreds of kilowatts and include power, low-voltage analog, high-voltage analog, mixed-signal, and digital circuitry. The role participates across the product lifecycle from proposal and feasibility through design, test, production, and support, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, software, systems, test, and program management teams.
Responsibilities:
- Perform circuit architecture, analysis, worst-case analysis, and simulation for power and mixed-signal designs.
- Oversee PCB layout to translate designs into manufacturable hardware.
- Execute initial power-up, verification, integration, and troubleshooting of new boards.
- Support production activities to ensure successful delivery and performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in DC-DC and other power converter design and development.
- Proficiency in power, analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit design.
- Proficiency with simulation tools such as LTspice/PSpice and MATLAB/Simulink or equivalent.
- Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer or Mentor Graphics, and oversight of board layout.
- Proficiency with lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and electronic loads.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with demonstrated troubleshooting of complex issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 4+ years, or 10+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience delivering power electronics for aerospace or other harsh environments.
- Cross-functional collaboration across electrical, mechanical, software, systems, test, and program management.
