Pay Rate: $22.20/hr

Job Summary:

The Water Billing Temp is responsible for performing clerical activities, including data entry, word processing, water and sewer use billing, abatement preparation, telephone answering, and complaint resolution. This role requires strong customer service skills and attention to detail in maintaining billing records.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Operate a multi-line telephone system to receive incoming calls, screen and direct calls, take messages, and relay information.

• Assist at the front counter, responding to billing inquiries and customer questions.

• Enter data for water and sewer usage, approved abatements, and customer information while updating computer and hard copy records.

• Assist in calculating and processing abatement requests and ensure approved abatements are sent out and recorded.

• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, or periodic reports as required.

• Perform data entry, retrieval, filing, and record maintenance for other departments as needed.

• Follow and adhere to departmental, city, and government regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Some experience in customer service, billing, computer operations, and telephone handling is required.

• Experience with MUNIS software and/or government operations is preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
