Job Description
We are seeking a CE Facility Support Engineer - Electrical 3 to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data center electrical systems, maintenance operations, and safety compliance and a proven ability to support critical environment reliability and execute standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Provide escort support for third-party contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and service providers on site.
- Complete assigned tasks with supervision, including rounds and initial assessments of equipment performance.
- Monitor the performance of maintenance and operations of electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment with supervision.
- Assist in emergency monitoring and response to abnormal conditions using emergency operating procedures.
- Adhere to safety and physical security procedures and policies at all times.
- Record daily operational readings of electrical equipment through routine rounds and logs, including temperatures, voltages, and currents.
- Follow SOPs for critical environment planned work activities.
- Energize cabinets in colocation environments.
- Perform UPS preventative maintenance on quarterly and annual cycles.
- Execute system control panel and battery preventative maintenance.
- Assist in troubleshooting, repair, replacement, and calibration of instrument sensors.
- Support electrical infrastructure across the data center campus, including large-capacity and smaller facilities.
- Operate and monitor building and electrical power management systems (e.g., EPMS).
- Perform Remote Power Panel shutdown of one source with critical load maintained on one source (N).
- Conduct PDU shutdowns for power meter replacement.
- Support Power Interruption Testing.
- Assist with master controller shutdowns or replacements.
- Apply a fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code.
Top Skills Required:
* Fundamental understanding of the National Electrical Code
* Required: Previous datacenter experience
* Required: All candidates must hold an OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E
* Required: Experience with electrical systems in a high availability assembly / manufacturing / critical infrastructure environment such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields.
* Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
* Required: 5+ year(s) work/applied learning experience in technical fields (e.g. automotive, electrical, controls, data center)
* Required: Able to work a flexible work schedule which could include 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, 3-, 4-, or 5-day work weeks
* Required: Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous data center experience.
- OSHA or OSHA-approved NFPA 70E certification.
- Experience with electrical systems in high-availability or critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of work or applied learning experience in technical fields such as automotive, electrical, controls, or data center operations.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including 12-hour shifts, rotating shifts, and 3-, 4-, or 5-day work weeks.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Fundamental knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with EPMS and building management systems.
- Experience performing UPS, battery, and control panel preventative maintenance in live environments.
Shift Details:
- A-side night shift: Sunday through Tuesday and every other Wednesday (two resources).
- B-side night shift: Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday (two resources).
Equipment & PPE Requirements:
- Supplier-provided Windows 11 compatible laptop.
- Lace-up composite toe boots covering the ankle with slip-resistant sole meeting ASTM F2413-05.
- Type 2, ANSI Z89 approved hard hat or helmet.
- High-visibility vest.
