About the RoleBcforward is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the CPD&D (Crop Protection Discovery and Development) team. This position will support laboratory operations critical to advancing our crop protection pipeline. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, eager to learn, and capable of working independently while adhering to safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine sample preparation and characterization for analytical testing.
- Support HPLC analysis of materials (previous experience preferred).
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation for sample testing.
- Assist with active ingredient and raw material qualification and shelf-life extension support.
- Accurately document and communicate test results and findings.
- Apply sound scientific methods to solve technical problems and improve lab processes.
- Maintain strict compliance with laboratory safety and EH&S protocols.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Biology, Material Science, or a related STEM field.
- 2+ years of experience in a research, manufacturing, or engineering laboratory environment.
- Hands-on experience in a chemistry lab or equivalent setting.
- Strong understanding of lab equipment, chemical handling, and analytical techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in documentation and reporting of laboratory results.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Experience in analytical purification and/or formulation development.
- Familiarity with chemical inventory systems and sample tracking.
- Proven ability to manage instrument upkeep, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Customer-focused approach with an emphasis on internal stakeholder support.
