Position Title: General Operator (Packaging)

Locations: El Paso, IL 61738
Anticipated Start Date: 07/28
Expected Duration: 6 Months
Job Type: Contract with possible extension
Shift: Need to available for all three shifts
Day Shift 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Evening Shift:3:30 PM - 12:00 AM *(Not available until the end of September)*
Midnight Shift:11:30 PM - 8:00 AM
Pay Rate $19.00/hr on W2 + ($1.25 shift differential)
Need: Previous experience operating a forklift. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.

Job Description:
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Packaging Contractor to join our Dry Herbicide Packaging Line team. Reporting to the Shift Leader, this role involves operating assigned packaging equipment and performing a variety of packaging and warehouse-related tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
This position requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to standard operating procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate assigned packaging line equipment following established procedures and safety protocols.
• Load containers onto conveyors, pack boxes, stack finished product onto pallets, and operate stretch wrap machines.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain clean and organized work areas.
• Load and unload materials and freight; package finished product; move and mix raw materials as required.
• Support warehousing activities, including forklift operation and sample collection.
• Participate in root cause analysis sessions as needed.
• Respond promptly to immediate response tasks assigned by the Immediate Response Leader.
• Complete all required site certifications in a timely manner.
• Follow Operating Discipline principles to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on process equipment.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Willingness and ability to perform repetitive motion and lifting tasks.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to standard operating procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a forklift.
• Basic computer skills.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Standardized Work.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment (not required but preferred).

Additional Notes

• Shift details will be communicated prior to start/training dates.
• Training will be provided upon hire.
• All candidates must be available to start on a Monday.
