BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated UI/UX Designer for an opportunity in Columbus, OH Hybrid!

Position Title: UI/UX Designer

Location: Columbus, OH (Hybrid)

Anticipated Start Date: Tentative Start Date

Expected Duration: 12 months contract

Job Type: TEMP TO HIRE], [HYBRID]

Pay Range: $69.70 - $74.19

Job Title: UI/UX Designer

Location: Columbus, OH Hybrid)

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Qualification:

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and execute design/research strategies for complex projects and ensure alignment with business objectives and user needs across multiple product areas
  • Participate in upfront user research to better understand user needs and behaviors, and usability testing to see how your solutions work for users, with the support and guidance of Experience Researchers
  • Develop strong relationships with Sr. Designers, Sr. Content Designers, Sr. Researchers, and Product partners to ensure we think critically about the why, what, and how of project development: Why are we doing this design, what are the problems we need to solve, and how will we do it?
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, productive daily environment: Able to focus and prioritize tasks, lead projects, set standards, cut through and organize ambiguity to achieve results aligned to business priorities
  • Collaborate directly with engineering peers, advocating for the user's perspective
  • Ideation and prototyping to explore different options, landing on elegant, and even unexpected, solutions that satisfy requirements
  • Diagram service flows and product features, design wireframes, and prototype interactions for key touchpoints as you lead end-to-end design initiatives within a specific domain.
  • Present work, connecting design decisions to desired business impact
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate user experience design into the product development processes and ensure seamless and customer-centric solutions

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 7+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in user experience design or similar roles
  • Can direct self and others in both planning and structuring the work, and executing on expected levels of quality
  • Prior work involves collaboration within design teams (with other designers, UX researchers, and content designers) and cross-functionally with product managers and software engineers
  • Advanced skills in Interaction Design, Visual/UI Design, and Information Architecture; Intermediate ability in adjacent skills such as User Research, UX Writing, and Prototyping
  • Advanced technical literacy, including an advanced understanding of client-side technologies, APIs, microservices, and the components of the technology stack, as well as their impact on user experience
  • Proven ability to develop experiences that meet or exceed the initial proposal of a product or experience, including the development of transformational innovation strategies and the creation of 'north star' representations to drive customer-centric decision-making
  • Familiar with system level thinking and design
  • Comfortable and confident when presenting work to executives
  • Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
  • Advocate for Accessibility Guidelines and Inclusive Design practices
  • Has led design work on successful digital products, demonstrating user- and human-centered design approaches
  • Familiar with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, frameworks such as React, and mobile UI standards

    To be considered for this position, you must have a portfolio available for review.

  • Expert in UI/UX and design technique as well as experience working across large environments with multiple operating systems/infrastructure for large-scale programs (e.g., Expert Engineers) starting to be firm-wide resources working on projects across
  • Is multi-skilled with expertise across software development lifecycle and toolset
  • May be recognized as a leader in Agile and cultivating teams working in Agile frameworks
  • Sought out as coach for at least one technical skill
  • Strong understanding of techniques such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development, Cloud Development, resiliency, security
  • Stays abreast of cutting edge technologies/trends and uses experience to influence application of those technologies/trends to support the business; may give speeches and outside the firm, writes articles
