BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated IT DBA Specialist Sr. in EST/CST Remote

Position Title: IT DBA Specialist Sr.

Location: Remote

Anticipated Start Date: 08/11/2025

Expected Duration: 11+ Months

Job Type: [FULL TIME (>%3D40 HRS WEEKLY)/ [TEMP], [Remote]

Pay Range: $52/Hr - $57/Hr

Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Requirements:

4+ years administering SQL Server (2016,2017,2019,2022, 2025)

* Identify, research, resolve, and respond to a high volume of simple to moderately complex issues or questions from internal and external customers.

* Develop, implement, and maintain the database system, ensuring stability and capability to meet ongoing business needs. This includes logical and physical database design, structure testing of database designs, applications, and technology platforms, security administration, backup and recovery planning, capacity planning, performance tuning, and research and evaluation of new tools and techniques.

* Develop, revise, and implement policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines to effectively administer the database environment.

* Lead task forces to develop and implement an Enterprise database system.

* Oversee the development of complex data models and logical database design.

* Plan and conduct structured testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance.

* Develop and implement plans to oversee the database administration function and ensure smooth transition to new technology.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

* Support the organization's quality programs.

* Administer company personnel policies in all areas and follow company staffing standards and training recommendations.

* Provide support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum performance.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To develop, implement and maintain the Enterprise database system in a combination UNIX/NT environment; and to develop policies, standards and procedures related to the database environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Develops, implements and maintains the database system ensuring that the database environment is stable and capable of meeting ongoing business needs including logical and physical database design and implementation; structure testing of database designs, applications, and technology platform; security administration, backup and recovery planning; capacity planning; performance and tuning; research and evaluation of new tools and techniques. Develops, revises, and implements policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines to effectively administer the database environment. Plans and conducts structured testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance. Develops and implements plans to oversee the database administration function, and ensures smooth transition to new technology. Assists with data and database administration including hardware and software evaluation and installation. Participates in task force to develop and implement a database system.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES Performs other duties as assigned. Supports the organization's quality program(s).

QUALIFICATIONS Education & Licensing Associate degree in computer-related study from an accredited college or university plus two (2) years computer-related experience required. Bachelor's degree in computer related study from an accredited college or university preferred. Experience Eight (8) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to include one (1) year Enterprise (Oracle, Progress, or SQL) development.
