Bcforward is looking for Laboratory Technician at Indianapolis

Job Title:
Laboratory Technician - Biology/Biochemistry Focus
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46268
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour
Schedule: Contract | 40 hours/week
Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Monday to Friday)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support research and development activities in a lab-based environment. The ideal candidate will hold a BS degree in Biology (preferred), Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific field and have at least 1 year of hands-on lab experience. This role is critical to supporting our CPD&D (Crop Protection Discovery & Development) teams in conducting experiments, managing lab processes, and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • BS degree in Biology (preferred), Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related field is required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in a research or manufacturing/engineering lab setting.
    • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and scientific techniques is required.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Conduct lab experiments and routine research tasks in support of CPD&D project objectives.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain lab equipment in accordance with SOPs.
  • Prepare chemical solutions, growth media, and samples as needed.
  • Accurately enter and manage experimental data.
  • Ensure consistent documentation and communication of experimental outcomes.
  • Follow laboratory-specific activities depending on the research focus within CPD&D.

Technical Skills (Preferred but not Required):
  • Data entry and scientific data management
  • Cell culture and aseptic techniques
  • Preparation of microbiological media and sterile solutions
  • Exposure to microbiology techniques

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities
  • Team-oriented with effective collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions, SOPs, and safety protocols consistently

Safety & Compliance:
  • Must adhere to Corteva EH&S (Environmental Health & Safety) standards.
  • Required to use appropriate PPE and follow all lab safety procedures and regulations.

Work Environment:
  • This role is 100% onsite in a laboratory setting.
  • Candidates must be comfortable working around common allergens such as insects, plants, and chemicals.
