Position Title: Content Writer 4
Location: Fully Remote, preference for candidates working EST business hours as the role will manage 2 members of the team in Costa Rica (EST)
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

Pay Range: $55 - $60/hr. on w2

Top Skills:The ideal portfolio shows off previous writing for the gaming industry, preferably writing that is online or has shipped. Writing for web products would be nice too see, as well as previous writing to match a tone of voice. Job Description: The Web Team for our large gaming studio has identified a long-term goal around how we want to deliver delightful and creative copy that will guide users through new gaming web experiences. Our game website has a mix of both creative writing and technical writing, which will guide users through onboarding, game play, purchasing, account management, and marketing spotlights. The ideal candidate will have a passion for writing and a strong understanding of how to create engaging and informative content for websites. As a website content owner, you will be responsible for creating high-quality content that is optimized for search engines and designed to engage our target audience. As a Web Content Development Specialist, you will help inform the community about future updates, events, and products through all the channels at their disposal. This includes writing stories for web platforms, marketing copy for products and initiatives, and collaborating with creative teams on new project initiatives. Your writing will range from the promotional and informative to the deeply silly. Key Responsibilities:
- Write clear, concise, and engaging website content that is optimized for search engines.
- Conduct research on industry-related topics to ensure that content is accurate and up to date.
- Collaborate with other members of the team to develop content strategies that align with business goals.
- Edit and proofread website content to ensure that it is error-free and meets our quality standards.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in website content writing.
- Adapt the game studio's Tone of Voice and follow the brand guidelines to deliver simple, inclusive, and offbeat messaging.
- Providing support as needed by writing about game-related goings-on for different web platforms and engaging with the community for in-depth features.
- Occasionally engaging in brainstorms around upcoming campaigns, projects, and updates, with the aim of communicating the news effectively and authentically across a range of mediums and assets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a website content writer or similar role.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong research skills.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience working in the gaming industry as a copy writer.
