BC Forward is looking for Warehouse Operations Team Lead in Indianapolis, IN 46241

Position Title: Warehouse Operations Team Lead

Locations: 2670 Executive Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46241
Anticipated Start Date: 03/31
Expected Duration: 2 Months
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, with the flexibility to visit various warehouses as needed.
Pay Rate $27.00/hr. on W2
Need: Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role.


Job Description:
Primary Purpose:
The Recall/Returns Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing assigned warehouse operations staff, with a focus on improving accuracy and production levels. This role ensures efficient workflow, compliance with company policies, and the professional development of team members.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Staff Management & Development:
    • Recruit, train, and develop an effective and diverse team in alignment with the company's Affirmative Action Program.
    • Establish and communicate performance standards and objectives.
    • Conduct performance appraisals, recommend salary adjustments, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
    • Provide coaching and career development opportunities to employees.
  • Operational Oversight:
    • Monitor and optimize warehouse operations, adjusting procedures and personnel assignments as needed.
    • Ensure safe and productive work practices, implementing improvements to prevent accidents or injuries.
    • Supervise product processing and ensure efficient workflow at workstations.
    • Provide orientation and training for new processors.
    • Deliver one-on-one coaching and implement training improvement plans for employees below quality/production expectations.
  • Compliance & Policy Administration:
    • Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures.
    • Conduct regular team meetings to keep staff informed of departmental and company updates.
    • Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Performance Monitoring & Improvement:
    • Track department productivity and identify trends.
    • Recommend and implement process enhancements to drive efficiency.
    • Generate and analyze reports as needed to assess operational performance.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • Support the organization's quality programs.
    • Travel as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and motivation to team members to maximize performance.
  • Administer company personnel policies, ensuring compliance with staffing standards.
  • Conduct interviews, hire employees, and develop performance improvement plans.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.

Qualifications:
Education & Licensing:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience, including at least one (1) year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and implement change effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Effective time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete accurate reports.

Work Environment:
  • Mental: Requires clear thinking, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities. Must handle work-related stress and meet deadlines.
  • Physical: Ability to lift or move objects up to 50 lbs. Regular use of a computer and potential travel as needed.
  • Auditory/Visual: Requires good hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills
