Job Description
We are seeking a Care Engagement Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in member outreach, call center operations, and benefit education and a proven ability to drive member engagement, schedule preventive services, and reduce barriers to care.
Responsibilities:
- Make outbound and receive inbound calls to schedule provider appointments and assist with Health Needs Screenings and payment activities for enhanced benefits eligibility.
- Educate members on plan benefits and enhanced services and recommend preferred providers to increase utilization of preventive care.
- Inform members on appropriate Emergency Department utilization for non-emergent conditions and explain impacts to benefits.
- Identify and address barriers to care to help members complete screenings, obtain services, or make required payments.
- Review member profiles prior to outreach to identify opportunities for additional or enhanced benefits.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to achieve department and company goals.
- Analyze call report data and adjust outreach approaches to improve information gathering and outcomes.
- Serve as a secondary resource to Member Services and Provider Services call centers as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of sales experience in a call center or high-pressure sales environment, or experience in member, provider, customer service, or call center.
- Alternatively, Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business administration, or related field with 1+ year of sales or call center experience, or experience in member, provider, or customer service.
- Proven ability to influence member behavior and drive engagement with preventive and enhanced benefits.
- Strong communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Experience with healthcare member engagement, benefit education, and data-informed outreach.
