Job Description
We are seeking an Audio Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our dynamic team advancing audio technologies for next-generation products. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in embedded C/C++, RTOS or bare-metal development, and audio DSP integration, and a proven ability to integrate, validate, and optimize firmware on custom hardware to deliver high-quality audio systems and experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, validate, and optimize embedded firmware for audio subsystems on custom hardware platforms.
- Integrate and debug audio features and algorithms on embedded systems such as ARM Cortex-M and DSP cores.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and QA teams to define requirements, validate designs, and ensure robust system integration.
- Conduct board bring-up, hardware validation, and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment.
- Write and maintain clear, well-documented code, validation procedures, and technical documentation.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of firmware development processes.
- Support manufacturing and test engineering teams with firmware-related issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
- Experience with RTOS or bare-metal firmware development.
- Experience with distributed compute development, including multi-core and multithreaded systems.
- Familiarity with audio signal processing concepts and interfaces such as I2S, PDM, I2C, SPI, and UART.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills using lab equipment and software tools.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience with audio DSPs, ideally Cadence HiFi and Qualcomm Hexagon.
- Experience with power management and low-power firmware design.
- Knowledge of Audio Precision equipment and tools.
- Familiarity with Bluetooth audio stacks, USB audio, or wireless audio protocols.
- Knowledge of hardware design and ability to review schematics and PCBs.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- 4+ years of experience in embedded C/C++, RTOS or bare-metal firmware, audio DSP integration, board bring-up, debugging, and multi-core or multithread development.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience integrating firmware on custom SoCs with ARM and DSP subsystems.
- Background with manufacturing test flows and factory firmware support.
